Some More Pictures

These are some more different pictures that I took while I was in Italy; I finally got my photo album completed, so you can now see these and all 424 of my pictures (actually I took more but many of them were similar) online. Get a big drink and a comfy chair! (Or just view it in multiple sittings!)

They photos are beautiful. You saw a lot while you were there. The colosseum was amazing, huh? Have they recently added that covering? I don't remember that when I was there two years ago.

Ha, yes that guy did indeed stand there for several hours. And I just found out from Kim yesterday, she was in Rome in 2004, that guy was in Piazza Navonna even then! So it must be his full time job!

Auntie, they were doing restorative work on the Colosseum when I was there. In fact, they were doing restorative work everywhere, which didn't surprise me. I was quite pleased to see that, because it shows they really care. When it's all done it should look great. Other locales where they were doing restoration was la Basilica di San Clemente, the Pantheon, and the big church in Piazza Navona whose name suddenly escapes me. Oh and Piazza di Spagna, on that famous building if you noticed the Lancôme ads, it was hiding scaffolding. Piazza Navona in general was under a ton of restoration. I love how to hide the scaffolding there they put up fake façades complete with fake windows. It actually fooled a number of us for a while!

The Colosseum reminds me of a quote, which I overheard while I was there, but I'll write about that in my next entry.
